Today we pick up you in Casablanca and we start our private tour driving to Fes with a guided tour of capital Rabat and also Meknes. We make short stops to visit the Roman ruins in Volubilis and then on to Fes where we’ll arrive in the evening. Overnight in a traditional Moroccan riad/hotel with dinner.
Today we explore Fes city including the Jewish Quarter (the Mellah) and the Royal Palace (yard), which is the biggest one in the country. Then we’ll leave Fes travelling towards Ifrane, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco”. During this journey you’ll see glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas Mountains. Stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest, the largest in Morocco, where you may well see Barbarian apes. Lunch will be in Midelt in a traditional Moroccan restaurant , then afterwards we’ll travel through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass and along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock and along the spectacular Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way. We’ll drive through welcoming Berber villages to Erfoud and then Rissani, before arriving to Merzouga. We enjoy camel ride guided by an experienced camel man. This camel ride takes about 1 hour to arrive to the camp-where you will spend the night- in the middle of the highest sand dunes to enjoy the sunset and watch stars . the dinner will be served at the camp.
Today in the morning we watch a beautiful desert sunrise, walk over the sand dunes and admire the amazing landscape of the Sahara Desert. After breakfast we go through the palm groves to Rissani, to visit the marketplace (open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays), and continue to Erfoud to visit the manufactures of fossilized marble. We will reach the Todgha Gorge, the highest narrowest canyon in Morocco. Lunch and walk through the Gorge to appreciate the wonderful landscape. In the afternoon we head towards the Dades Valley and spend the night in Boumalne Dades.
After breakfast we explore Dades Valley. Later on, we drive towards the Valley of Roses driving through the palm groves of Skoura and the “One Thousand Kasbahs” road, where you can appreciate 17th-century kasbahs. We will have lunch in Ouarzazate and, if you are interested, we can visit the cinema studios and the cinema museum. We will arrive in Marrakech in the evening and transfer you to the hotel.
